Does anyone else have trouble with choosing between color or black and white? I know I do. Practically every time I have to edit a photo I have a small internal war with myself whether I want to leave it in color or, to convert it to B&W. I love them both but usually, B&W wins over my disision…. It just has this beautiful simplified look that I can’t get enough of. It can make people focus on the photo and not the bright colors, like the shirt that would have wrecked the dynamics of this photo. I don’t think there is one right way to do things, but if you have never used B&W then I would recommend you give it a try and see what happens.
Blue Chalk worked with National Geographic Creative photographer and North Face athlete Cory Richards to create a promotional piece to demonstrate the scope of his work and the passion and athleticism that accompanies him in the field. A Tribute to Discomfort brings the viewer through Cory’s stunning work, his unique sense of humor, and his quest to create photographs that relate a common humanity.
